Abstract
Card fraud is a global problem. Moves to adopt EMV protocols in the US could see a sharp spike in card-no-present fraud if the experience of Europe is followed. The payments sector uses a wide variety of security and authentication methods to keep payments safe. Each one has pros and cons, yet it is only by getting a mix of security, with authentication at its heart, that payments can be properly secure, and the ideal platform for this is mobile.
