Invite colleaguesThe use of teams in airports: A survey and recommendations
Abstract
Although there is considerable academic research on teams, empirical data on the use of teams in organisational settings are limited, while data on the use of teams in airports are non-existent. Furthermore, there is little indication as to how well this research either fits the needs of the management practitioner, or makes its way into management practice. This paper attempts to address both problems by empirically measuring the extent of team use in the airport industry and comparing it with the US industry as a whole. The findings are used to identify and discuss the existing research of most use to practitioners. The paper concludes with recommendations for airport managers.
