Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to discuss the party wall issues that might arise on basement construction projects, specifically in large, period, high-value London properties. The paper will focus on the rights and obligations of the building owner and the building owner's surveyor, but mention will also be made of the adjoining owner and their surveyor as these roles are inextricably linked.
