Abstract
Retailers service multiple age groups. While different generations have different technology adoption profiles, their desire for a seamless experience is constant. This paper examines how supply chain leaders in retail can use this research to build low-cost, effective and generationally relevant supply chains.

Author's Biography
Mike Griswold is a Research VP in Gartner’s Supply Chain team, focusing on the retail supply chain. He is responsible for assisting supply leaders in understanding and implementing demand-driven supply chain principles that improve the performance of their supply chain. Mike’s primary research areas include demand planning, sales and operations planning, supply chain metrics and capability assessments. Mike has been an analyst for more than 11 years, and has over 30 years’ retail industry experience in the food and discount segments of retail. Mike has a B.S., Business Management, from Canisius College, Buffalo, New York and an M.B.A. from the Whittemore School of Business & Economics, at the University of New Hampshire.
