Invite colleaguesSenior Year Experience: More alumni engagement requires more student engagement
Abstract
In order to build an effective alumni engagement programme, the efforts must begin with students. Purdue Alumni has conducted outreach to students for over 20 years. In 2005 Purdue Alumni started a new student-alumni group called Purdue Alumni Student Experience (PASE) and it quickly became the largest student group on campus with over 8,000 paid members. Recognising the need to do more, the association created the Senior Year Experience in 2015, which strategically focuses on students in their final year on campus. This programme celebrates a student’s final year and prepares them for life as an alumnus. These programmes geared towards students set up relationships that extend beyond graduation and are the foundation for strong alumni engagement.
