David Gilbert BSc Hons Dip Arb FRICS FCIArb IRRV is National Head of Professional Standards and Practice in Lambert Smith Hampton. He has 39 years’ experience as a valuer and lease advisory specialist. He has lectured extensively on valuation, lease advisory and dispute resolution topics. He has published papers on related subjects in The Journal of Building Survey Appraisal and Valuation, Estates Gazette, Journal of Property Investment and Finance. Now dealing largely with regulatory matters he continues to provide strategic and consultancy advice in a valuation or lease advisory capacity.

Ben Strange is a Chartered Building Surveyor specialising in Dilapidations and with particular expertise in the impact of the upcoming MEES Regulations upon the entire property life-cycle. He leads the Dilapidations service line at Lambert Smith Hampton based at their London head office and is a regular contributor to industry publications. His work on the MEES Regulations includes advising landlords on mitigating the risk of their properties becoming unlettable as well as working with tenants, assisting them on the opportunity side of MEES including dilapidations, rent review and lease surrender opportunities. Among further stakeholders, he also advises investor clients on due diligence to minimise their risk exposure and identify unique investment opportunities arising from MEES.
