Invite colleaguesSmall and medium enterprises: Analysing the cyber challenge
Abstract
This paper seeks to understand how large organisations and small and medium enterprises (SMEs) deal with cyber incidents and how they try to mitigate their impact. In order to do this, the authors will conduct further research on the data from the BCI Cyber Resilience Report 2017. There will be a segmentation of the results according to organisational size, which will constitute the basis for the analysis. The aspects of cyber responses that will be examined include attack vectors, response time, financial impact, top management commitment and cyber resilience arrangements. The idea behind this study is that research on cyber security for SMEs is still limited and the data used in this paper can shed light on issues that professionals experience regularly.
