We identify three block predictors: human capital, social capital and financial capital predictors. Previous studies report that age, income and volunteering are major predictors of philanthropy. Our study shows that although, individually, these characteristics showed significant correlation with educational giving, there were other important factors that served as better predictors. Specifically, voting, homeownership and income were the top best predictors of educational philanthropy, according to our model.
