Abstract
How can airports today find the right balance between accommodating the demand for air travel and the needs of airlines, while also addressing a framework that imposes more and more constraints on the environmental impact of the airport’s activities? This paper presents Geneva Airport’s strategy to address this. The paper also discusses the concrete actions Geneva Airport has taken to implement this strategy, and the first outcomes of these actions.

Author's Biography
André Schneider joined Genève Aéroport as CEO in September 2016. Before this he has been Vice-President, Resources and Infrastructures at the Ecole Polytechnique Fédéral de Lausanne, Managing Director and COO of the World Economic Forum, as well as building and leading an IT consulting team for IBM. He has a PhD in computer science from the University of Geneva. Before this, he has studied and played as a classical orchestra musician in several German and Swiss symphony orchestras.
