Abstract
The low-cost carrier (LCC) market has seen rapid growth in the last decade and this has changed the shape of the airline industry. This paper identifies the main characteristics of LCCs and considers how the growth of this sector has had an impact on the demand for airport real estate. The results of a survey conducted by Drivers Jonas are used to illustrate the points raised. The paper concludes with a summary of the property mix required to meet the demands of a growing aviation sector.
