Abstract
In an effort to nurture future fundraising success, higher education institutions are refocusing their advancement efforts on educating current students about the importance and impact of philanthropy. Creating a culture of philanthropy starts with financial resources, campus collaborations and engaging current students. Student philanthropy engagement can lead to stronger alumni affinity and increased financial support. This paper explores the development and implementation of student philanthropy programming, utilising the case study of Indiana University Northwest, a non-residential urban campus located in the Midwest.

Author's Biography
Jeri Patricia Gabbert serves as the vice chancellor for advancement and external affairs at IU Northwest and has more than 15 years of experience in fundraising, communications, marketing, special events and alumni relations. As an accomplished higher education advancement and development leader, Jeri Patricia is responsible for providing leadership and initiative in the planning, implementation and administration of the campus’s fundraising, alumni relations, special events, and communication and marketing programmes.
Leeann Z. Wright serves as the associate director of development at IU Northwest. Leeann supports the philanthropic and outreach goals through annual giving, donor relations and special giving programming.
