Invite colleaguesDigital asset management: Modernising infrastructure and processes
Abstract
This paper provides a detailed overview of the reasons to consider upgrading legacy digital asset management (DAM) IT infrastructure and explains how to do this, using simple layman’s terms. This paper focuses on IT infrastructure because it can easily be overlooked, yet the quality of an organisation’s infrastructure directly affects the cost, the type of DAM solution and process that can be deployed. This paper begins by describing the strategic business need for a DAM solution and why infrastructure is a critical driver in the final decision. It then outlines the features that could be considered for a DAM solution. The third part outlines the primary stakeholders to consider when upgrading DAM infrastructure, followed by a template for architecting and rolling out new DAM infrastructure. The penultimate section provides examples of issues faced by Landor when rolling out DAM, and the final section provides a summary on the future of DAM infrastructure. This guidance is suitable for organisations of all sizes, and may also be useful for greenfield projects.
