Abstract
Innovation, financial performance, and employee engagements are today's key measures of business performance. Measuring this intangible data and understanding how work has changed can inform new workplace strategies. Corporate real estate executives, designers and facility managers need to understand how to identify and measure performance metrics in order to align workplace and real estate strategies with business goals. Organisational effectiveness and innovation often begin with an individual. Understanding how individuals work and what types of space support both individual and team effectiveness is crucial in driving organisational productivity. This paper will highlight some results of Gensler's research over the last five years and share various tools and metrics that can be used to understand the crucial role workplace design plays in business performance and organisational effectiveness.
