Abstract

Conventional wisdom paints a view that the pervasive and prevalent reporting of cybersecurity as today's most prominent threat is not an issue for the real estate sector. But with the transition to intelligent buildings, SMART everything enabled by the Internet of Things and the issue of corporate liability, attitudes towards this conventional view are changing rapidly. So, how real is the threat, and what actions should the sector take to mitigate the risks, which go way beyond IT, and look at the very real impact on corporate real estate and the ability to manage the portfolio of investments?
