Emerging issues and trends in cyber security in the Swiss financial sector
Abstract
This paper presents the results of an empirical study on emerging issues and trends in cyber security for the Swiss financial sector. Six main themes emerged from 14 interviews with practitioners and academics. Improved and more sophisticated training, information sharing, third-party risk assessment, enhanced organisational capabilities, regulatory compliance and the use and implementation of new technologies were identified as critical themes for participants and the industry. In addition, these critical themes represent key areas where both practitioners and academics are calling for further investigation and attention in order to effectively address the emerging challenges that the financial sector is expected to face in the coming years.
