The main objective of this presentation is to share the experience on mycetoma as a neglected medical and health problem.

I will conclude my talk by saying that mycetoma, is a serious health and medical problem. It is one of the badly neglected tropical diseases worldwide, as it is not a glorious disease. Mycetoma is a scar in the human consciousness and our job is to heal it.

Mycetoma is one of the neglected tropical diseases. In fact, it is a unique neglected tropical disease. It is a devastating medical dilemma. It is a disfiguring medical problem. It is a mutilating medical disease. In fact, it is a destructive inflammatory disease. Although it is an inflammatory disease, it shares malignant diseases characteristics. They invade the tissues locally. They spread locally via the blood stream and it can recur after a good medical and surgical treatment.
