Hello and welcome. My name is Hile Rutledge,
I am the President and Principal Consultant of OKA, Otto Kroeger Associates.
We're consulting and training firm in Fairfax,
Virginia in the United States,
and we specialize in leadership and team development.
I'm going to talk with you today about resilience and emotional intelligence,
resilience and the EQ.
Now as a consulting company that really started five or six years ago,
we've been asked many times to really focus in on resilience.
What do you have on resilience?
How can you help us boost resilience?
So it's a very hot and growing topic.
As I was approaching this topic,
I was looking for the best tools we had to actually define
an approach this persistent and growing in sharpness and resonance problem.
So I have come to the conclusion that one of
the best tools we had was emotional intelligence,
was the EQI specifically.
I wanted to share with you some of the research I found,
some of the approaches we've come up with that bring
this dynamic toolset to this growing in popularity and urgency topic.
So welcome, let's talk about resilience and EQ.
So our agenda today is going to first talk about what resilience is.
We're focused on the same understanding of this critical topic.
Then I want to share with you a few case studies that I've found about the resilient.
I've found some folks I think we can commonly
agree are resilient and really learn from them.
What do we know the resilience due or have?
How do they approach life and their behaviors?
We'll see that good way of understanding
those behaviors is through the lens of emotional intelligence.
So I want to show you some really targeted
handles that we can use from emotional intelligence on resilience.
So we're going to look at EQ as a resilience tool,
and then drill down very specifically to
actions that anyone of you can take to build your own resilience
and to engage actions in others in your teams and
your systems to actually boost the resilience of those around you.
