Dr. Susan Raines Conflict Management Specialist and Mediator, USA

Susan S. Raines (Ph.D. Indiana University, 2002) served as a Professor and Director in the graduate program in International Conflict Management and Peacebuilding at Kennesaw State University for two decades. She is a mediator and conflict resolution consultant for multinational and international organizations, with a focus on dispute prevention and resolution through superior management and leadership capacity building. Her textbook, Conflict Management & Leadership for Managers (Rowman & Littlefield, 2019 & 2023) is used to train managers, leaders, and ombudsmen to prevent and manage conflict effectively to enhance mission achievement. Expert Mediators (2013, co-authored with Jean Poitras) is used for advanced mediation training. She served as the Editor-in-Chief for Conflict Resolution Quarterly for 12 years and has authored more than 60 peer reviewed articles. She has mediated more than 18,000 cases inside and outside of the court system, trained mediators worldwide, and coached executive leadership teams for Fortune 500 organizations. Since 2023 she has served as a diplomat for the United States in Tijuana, Mexico and Kyiv, Ukraine.
