He is a fellowship-trained ophthalmologist who specializes in cornea, cataract, and laser refractive surgery. Dr. Meghpara performs all forms of corneal transplantation, and has a special interest in layer-specific transplantation including DMEK and DALK. He has extensive experience with the latest technology in cataract surgery including the femtosecond laser and advanced technology intraocular lens implants that correct astigmatism and presbyopia. As the Co-Director of Refractive Surgery, Dr. Meghpara is an expert in blade-less customized LASIK, advanced surface ablation (PRK), and phakic intraocular lens surgery to help patients see well without their glasses and contacts.

Dr. Meghpara graduated from the University of Illinois College of Medicine, where he was selected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He completed his ophthalmology residency at the Cullen Eye Institute, Baylor College of Medicine. After residency, Dr. Meghpara completed a fellowship in corneal and refractive surgery at the University of Colorado. He has a faculty appointment at Sidney Kimmel Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University and is a team ophthalmologist for the Philadelphia Phillies baseball team. He has authored numerous articles and delivered lectures at local, national, and international meetings. He is actively involved in teaching ophthalmology residents on the Cornea Service at Wills Eye Hospital and was awarded the prestigious Golden Apple Resident Teaching Award in 2019.
