Biography

Dr. Schmidt received his B.S. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the Friedrich-Alexander University in Erlangen, Germany in 2004 and his license to practice as a pharmacist in Germany in 2005. Dr. Schmidt joined the Division of Pharmacology at the Leiden/Amsterdam Center for Drug Research in the Netherlands as a post-doctoral fellow in January 2009, where he was a member of the Dutch Top Institute Pharma mechanism-based PK-PD modeling platform under the supervision of Prof. Meindert Danhof. In January 2012, he rejoined the University of Florida as an Assistant Professor at the Center for Pharmacometrics and Systems Pharmacology in Lake Nona (Orlando). His primary research interest is on the development of mechanism-based disease system models.
