Biography

Dian Turnheim earned her B.A. in philosophy from Northwestern University (Evanston, Illinois) in 1964 and her PhD in psychology and physiology from University of Vienna (Austria) in 1977. She completed post-doctoral work in neurophysiology at the Department of Comparative Physiology, University of Vienna and Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique... read more(CNRS), Gif-sur-Yvette, France. Since 1980 she has worked with the OECD on Test Guidelines, Existing Chemicals, GLP, and Chemical Accidents. She began to lead the OECD activities related to GLP and compliance monitoring in 1990. She was named Deputy Head of Division, Environment Health and Safety Division in 2006. Since April 2009, she holds the position of Head of Division, Environment, Health and Safety Division. She is widowed with two children and now lives in Paris but is originally from California in the United States.
