Biography

Marc Peters-Golden is a physician-scientist and Professor of Internal Medicine in the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine (PCCM) at the University of Michigan (UM) Medical School. He joined the UM faculty in 1984 after obtaining his M.D. from Duke University, his Internal Medicine residency training at Tufts Medical... read moreCenter, and his clinical and research fellowship training in Pulmonary Medicine at Johns Hopkins. He has served on numerous editorial boards and as a section editor for the Journal of Immunology. Dr. Peters-Golden was elected to the American Society of Clinical Investigation and the Association of American Physicians, and received the American Thoracic Society’s Recognition Award for Scientific Accomplishment. He has mentored more than 35 postdoctoral research fellows, lectured at more than 50 universities around the world, and published more than 290 scholarly articles and book chapters. His research seeks to gain novel insights into cellular and molecular determinants of lung injury, inflammation, immunity, repair, and fibrosis, and to identify new strategies for therapeutic targeting.
