Heping (Peace) Cheng received degrees in applied mathematics and mechanics, physiology, and biomedical engineering from Peking University, China, where he served as a faculty member in the Department of Electrical Engineering before earning his PhD in Physiology from the University of Maryland in Baltimore. He co-founded the Institute of Molecular Medicine at Peking University, China where he is now a Professor and full time Senior Investigator. Peace's current research interest is mitochondrial calcium and ROS signaling.
