Biography

Karl Herholz is Professor in Clinical Neuroscience at the University of Manchester and has worked previously as a clinical neurologist and Professor of Neurology at University Hospital and the Max-Planck Institute for Neurological Research in Cologne, Germany. He has been leading neuroscience research at the Wolfson Molecular Imaging Centre with... read morea particular interest in the use of positron emission tomography (PET) for early diagnosis and prevention of dementia, imaging of specific transmitter systems, deposition of pathological proteins, and imaging of gliomas. He has served in leading roles in several international multicentre PET studies and has been a member of the UK Medical Research Council Neuroscience and Mental Health Board. His research has been published in more than 300 research papers (H-index 99) and several books.
