Biography

Ted Baker spent the first half of his adult life in private industry, in firms ranging from multinationals corporations to tiny startups. He vastly preferred the latter. Along the way he earned an MBA from the University of Chicago, where no matter the course, it was always about finance. After... read moreparticipating in the growth and sale of what Business Week labeled the "fastest growing high tech hotshot" in the United States - Appex Corporation - to EDS, Ted did a PhD in sociology (University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill), studying employment practices in entrepreneurial firms. His current research focuses on how entrepreneurs sometimes accomplish a lot more than they ought to be able to accomplish, given the limited resources at their disposal. Now that he has finished this lecture he will be working on a revision of a paper about building and managing entrepreneurial team when you don't have much money to spend.
