Biography

Gill Kirton is a widely published researcher in the field of employment relations/organizational equality and diversity. One strand of her research has explored diversity management in an organizational context. She was co-investigator of a major ESF funded research project that resulted in the book Diversity Management in the UK: Organizational... read moreand Stakeholder Experiences (2009, Routledge) and several journal articles in Human Resource Management Journal, International Journal of HRM, Personnel Review, Employee Relations. She was also co-investigator of a study that explored the use of assessment centres as a means of increasing the diversity of the UK judiciary. Her most recent project is a comparative investigation of women's leadership in American and British unions working with colleagues at Cornell and Rutgers universities. Professor Kirton has published numerous refereed journal articles and book chapters and five books. She sits on the editorial boards of two major journals in her field: Gender, Work and Organization and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion.
