Mike Wilkinson's initial training was in hotel management where he spent time with Trust House Forte as a graduate trainee in both the hotels and airports divisions. He moved into sales and spent a large part of his career in various senior sales positions in large FMCG businesses, both in... read moreNational Accounts and across the sales and marketing functions. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Sales and Marketing Management and a member of the Professional Speakers Association. He has been an independent consultant for almost 25 years and has worked with clients across a diverse range of business sectors and has experience of FMCG, as well as business to business sales. These years of experience and the range of industries with which he has worked has given him a unique perspective on the sales process and the ability to deal with sales issues from a practical perspective delivering effective new ways of working. He now works across the globe with clients in a broad range of industries. As well as being the co-author of The Bluffers Guide to Public Speaking, Mike has written many articles on major sales and value and, together with Harry Macdivitt, another author in this series, published The Challenge of Value (currently in press). With Harry, his current writing project is Value Based Pricing - A Practitioner's Guide, scheduled for publication in 2011. Current and recent clients include Alstom, Sensus, Messier Dowty, Akzo Nobel, Wilkinson Sword/Energiser and many others.
