Biography

Osama Mawlawi is an Associate Professor of Imaging Physics at MD Anderson Cancer Center (MDACC) with a specific interest in nuclear medicine physics and is the lead PET/CT physicist at MD Anderson. Dr. Mawlawi joined MDACC in 2001 from Columbia University School of Physicians and Surgeons where he worked as... read morean Assistant Professor from 1998-2001. Prior to that he was a Research Assistant at MSKCC from 1990-1998. Dr. Mawlawi received his BE in electrical engineering in 1988 from the American University of Beirut (Lebanon), his masters degree in biomedical engineering in 1990 from Polytechnic University in New York, and his PhD also in biomedical engineering in 1998 from Columbia University. Dr. Mawlawi has published over 60 peer reviewed articles and book chapters and has several grants from industry and professional societies such as Siemens Medical Solutions, GE HealthCare and the Society of Thoracic Radiology.
