SPEAKER BIOGRAPHY

Dr. John Blaho – Mount Sinai School of Medicine, USA

John Blaho has focused his research on the herpes simplex virus with the goal of understanding the molecular events involved in the regulation of the replication of this human virus and also the mechanisms by which the virus causes cell death. Since coming to Mount Sinai, Dr. Blaho has played a significant role in the teaching activities of the Department of Microbiology. An active participant in science at the national level, Dr. Blaho serves on the editorial boards of the major virology journals and is also a permanent member of the NIH virology study section.
