Biography

Professor Harmon has a Ph.D. in Evolution, Ecology, and Population Biology from Washington University, 2005. His academic journey began with a B.S. in Zoology, with honours, summa cum laude, and a minor in Mathematics from Iowa State University in 1998. The ongoing progress in constructing the tree of life provides Professor Harmon with a unique opportunity to explore the dynamics of diversification across clades and throughout time. Within his lab, current projects are dedicated to testing hypotheses concerning trait evolution, diversification, and adaptive radiation through the application of cutting-edge statistical comparative methods. In addition to his expertise in these areas, Professor Harmon also explores the intriguing intersection between quantitative genetics and comparative methods, showcasing his multidisciplinary approach to advancing scientific understanding.
